Rodney Payne has over 25 years of extensive film finance experience at Hill Samuel, Coutts & Co and was the co-founder of Cobalt Media Group. He's also a former Governor of the British Film Institute.
Rodney
was responsible for backing Producer Jeremy Thomas and his multi-Academy Award
winning epic movie, The Last Emporer.
After leaving Coutts Bank he became Managing Director in Cobalt Media Group which created hit films such as Swin Fan as well as the highly acclaimed and Oscar nominated House of Sand & Fog and Kevin Costner's large budget western movie, Open Range.
Cobalt then merged with Winchester Entertainment and Rodney joined the board in 2003. The company then merged with Content Film, currently the largest listed film production company on the stock market. After the merger with Content, Rodney subsequently left in 2005 to pursue new projects.
Rodney is the Financial Director for Briton Ventures and interact with key European and American media partners on behalf of the media group.
